Pharma-Q Quality Control Department

The Pharma-Q QC department consists of a Chemistry and Microbiology laboratory and has a staff complement of 40. The laboratory conducts a wide spectrum of QC tests on raw materials, intermediates, finished products and stability samples.
Despite the high volumes handled by the laboratory, the efficient systems in place ensure a fast turn around time.

The Microbiology Laboratory conducts a wide range of pharmaceutical microbiological testing. These tests include routine microbiological screening of incoming raw materials, intermediates and manufactured products, water testing, sterility testing, bacterial endotoxin testing, preservative effectiveness testing, environmental monitoring and antibiotic assaying of raw materials and manufactured products.

The Chemistry Laboratory is spacious and well equipped. Some of Pharma-Q's instrumentation capabilities are HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, FTIR, AA, TOC, Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analysis, Potentiometric Titration, Dissolution, Disintegration, Friability, hardness, RI and Viscosity amongst others.

Over and above providing a complete QC function to Pharma-Q's manufacturing facility, Pharma-Q's QC Department offers its services as a contract testing laboratory for both microbiological and chemical analysis.

Administrating a stability program for many of Pharma-Q's customers forms an integral part of Pharma-Q's contract testing services. Confidence in Pharma-Q's laboratories by many of the leading pharmaceutical companies in South Africa has seen a significant increase in contract testing.
